The Voxcom network is a private national network that thousands of small, medium and enterprise customers across Australia rely on for high quality digital transmission of their telephone calls. From small businesses with only a few lines, right up to multinationals and publicly listed companies requiring extremely high capacity, the Voxcom private network has proven itself to be both highly flexible and highly reliable.

The Voxcom voice over private IP (VoPIP) network

Cutting costs

  • Free calls between sites. You get free calls between all of your VoPIP enabled sites. For example if you have a Sydney head office with Melbourne and Brisbane branch offices, using VoPIP, all your calls between these three offices would be free. This feature alone has saved some of our clients many thousands of dollars per month on their phone bill.
  • Heavily reduced line rental charges. Because our VoPIP service bypasses the traditional, costly, telecommunications infrastructure, we can pass the savings onto you by slashing or even eliminating line rental charges.
  • Heavily reduced call rates. Again because traditional telecommunications infrastructure is bypassed and your calls are connected directly via Voxcom infrastructure, we can offer you much lower call rates and save you up to 40% or more compared to your current call rates.
  • Bundling. Data services such as broadband Internet or VPN access can be bundled with your VoPIP service. By bundling data services with VoPIP, we can offer huge discounts compared to buying these services separately.
  • Flexible provisioning. Traditional digital fixed lines (also known as ISDN) come in blocks of only two or ten lines. This means that if, for example, you need only 7 voice lines, you still have to pay for 8 or 10. The flexibility of VoPIP means that you will only ever pay for the number of lines you actually need, while still getting all of the business benefits of digital voice technology.

Enabling advanced functionality

  • Telecommuting. VoPIP allows staff to work from home, a hotel room or a client site while remaining fully connected to your office phone system – seamlessly and easily. This ensures staff are always contactable and part of your office phone system – regardless of their physical location.
  • Unified messaging. Unified messaging allows you to get all of your messages in one place – regardless of whether the message is an email, voicemail or fax. Moreover all of these messages can get to you regardless of whether you are in the office or on the road. No more playing phone tag or missing that important fax just because you were out of the office.
  • Find me, follow me. Are your customers frustrated by calling multiple numbers when trying to contact you? They may try your office phone and mobile phone only receive a voicemail message each time. Find me, follow me is a feature which allows Voxcom’s VoPIP network to intelligently find you regardless of your location. This gives you the flexibility of advertising a single contact phone number to your customers and using the Voxcom VoPIP network to transfer the call based on predefined rules such as; time of day, day of week or other criteria. For example you may want calls to your office number to automatically transfer to your mobile phone after 10 seconds of unanswered ringing. Then if your mobile phone is not answered, you may want the call automatically transferred to your personal assistant. After hours or on public holidays you may wish to have calls transferred immediately to voicemail or to an external answering service. Find me, follow me gives your business this kind of flexibility.
  • Unified extension numbering across offices. Having multiple offices connected to Voxcom’s VoPIP network allows you to have a unified extension numbering scheme. Staff in different branch offices can easily contact each other via their internal extension numbers rather than using full external phone numbers. This simplifies interoffice dialling and unifies your business phone system – regardless of where your branch offices are located across Australia.
  • Integration with computer applications. VoPIP enables your phone system to communicate with third party applications such as CRM systems or address books. This allows you to dial telephone numbers directly from your computer address book or have incoming calls matched against customer records which are automatically pulled up when the customer calls.
  • Easier Management. Voxcom’s VoPIP services are managed directly by our network operations centre (NOC). This means that service modifications (for example adding or removing line hunt, enabling or disabling caller ID) can be actioned instantly rather than waiting for days or weeks for your phone company to either send a technician out or “get back to you”.

Importantly with Voxcom’s VoPIP service you do not need to change your existing telephone numbers or equipment. Your existing telephone numbers can be ported to the Voxcom VoPIP network and your existing investment in telephone equipment is protected. This is one of the reasons why switching to Voxcom VoPIP is completely risk free.

Flexible Installation Options

Voxcom VoPIP installed as a hosted PBX:
Voxcom’s Hosted PBX service is ideal for offices that either do not currently have a phone system or who want to outsource the management and capital expense associated with owning an in-house PBX telephone system. The telephone system is located on the core of Voxcom’s VoPIP network and is fully managed for a low monthly fee per handset.

Voxcom VoPIP installed as an IP trunk:
IP trunking is for customers who have an existing IP phone system such as a Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk or Avaya phone system. Voxcom offers direct VoPIP connectivity via the SIP protocol and an Ethernet handoff.

Voxcom VoPIP installed and integrated with an existing phone system:
This option is for customers who already have a conventional telephone system, but who want to take advantage of the benefits and cost savings VoPIP has to offer. In this scenario, Voxcom installs equipment onsite that connects your existing phone system to Voxcom’s VoPIP network. This protects your existing investment in telephone equipment while allowing you to transition seamlessly to VoPIP.
